OUR DIRECTOR

Since I was a little girl, the library has been an integral part of my life. I distinctly remember weekly trips down to the city library to pick out new books, afternoons sprawled out on tables in the kids’ room working on homework, and evenings spent in my college library drafting term papers. I eventually graduated from a patron to staff member during college, where I discovered my passion for working with the public.

Before coming to the community of New Haven, I was the library director of a small, rural library in Northern New York. During my first directorship, I expanded library use, the in-house collection, and program offerings. I also helped the library achieve their goal of renovating the second floor of their building for new programming efforts. Most of all, I spent four wonderful years investing in a community--helping patrons in their personal learning endeavors, and supporting learning and reading for all ages. I love getting to know patrons, helping them find a new book, procure materials for a research project, or learn a new skill.

I’m excited about my tenure here at New Haven, and look forward to getting to know the community. If we haven’t met yet, I hope you’ll stop in soon to say hello and pick out a book to take home.

Happy Reading!
